Toronto Star, Globe both say "Liberals best choice"

In the end, the choice facing Ontario, and western Mississauga in particular, is about a vision for the next four years and beyond. The Liberals have it. Divisive, and poisonous rhetoric didn't work for the Conservatives. The Toronto Star chooses the Liberals. So does the Globe and Mail. Read the column by The Star's Martin Regg-Cohn on PC Leader Tim Hudak.

Why Bob won the election in our riding

Why Bob Delaney deserves your vote!

Over and above the party's pledges and work the Province would do in the Lisgar, Meadowvale and Streetsville area, Bob has delivered in full on his commitments from previous elections. Bob is a responsive, effective Member of Provincial Parliament. Read details.

Surgery centre: promise made, promise kept!

When your Liberal government makes a health care promise, we keep it. When we take on a big project, we complete it on time and within budget. In 2007, I said Ontario would fund a new ambulatory surgery centre at Credit Valley Hospital. Along with other significant capital upgrades, it was announced on August 23rd as Phase III at Credit Valley Hospital. More detail.

Why Ontarians chose the Liberals

Liberal Platform an intelligent, affordable blueprint

An election platform has to be a blueprint for government. And it has to be an understandable collection of commitments that a government can accomplish in the short-, medium- and sometimes long-term. And that is what I saw when Dalton introduced our Liberal platform on Labour Day.

Ontario economy is roaring back

In June of 2011, the Ontario economy created more jobs than the rest of Canada, plus the United States, combined! Ontario's economy has now had seven consecutive quarters of growth, and higher business investment. Of all new Canadian jobs created in the past six months, fully 57 percent were created in Ontario! Your personal and business taxes are lower now than they were eight years ago

A value-added tax dispenses with the tax-upon-tax-upon-tax ad infinitum that permeates through the Ontario economy with the regressive, expensive, obsolete and stupid PST. A value-added tax (VAT) is what the rest of the world uses applies to most things. Get the details

Why the losers lost the election

PC candidate a serial no-show at community debates

Mississauga-Streetsville Conservative Candidate Wafik Sunbaty skipped another two all-candidates debates, declining to attend an all-candidates forum Monday evening at Eden United Church, and confirming but not showing up for an all-candidates forum Tuesday afternoon at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Secondary School. Time to look at unworkable NDP last-minute pledges

With the meltdown of the Conservative campaign in Mississauga-Streetsville and across Ontario, more focus is on the promises that the NDP can usually make because nobody is paying attention to them. Let's look at how the NDP platform on post-secondary education and health care are cobbled together and not costed. Read more.

Tory campaign dissolves to verbal spitballs and fabrications

Is this really what the imploding Conservative election campaign has been reduced to? Sign defacing and throwing verbal spitballs composed entirely of fabrications? So it seems, as the Conservatives in Mississauga-Streetsville seem to have just stopped campaigning. Read more.

Game is up for Hudak's nonsensical "changebook"

Says a scathing review by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, "There are 13 statistical graphs contained in the changebook. Shockingly, it turned out that every one of them revealed significant errors in labelling, citation, scaling, and proportion. In a few cases the illustrated data is simply wrong." Read more.

So who's a "foreigner" Hudak? Spell it out!

By Tim Hudak's warped, sneering, hypocritical, angry rhetoric, I ought to feel hard-done-by. After all, just about everybody on my street, except me, seems to meet the Hudak Conservative definition of being a "foreigner." The difference is that instead, I feel angry because my neighbours, and those like me, born in Canada, are being treated like idiots by Hudak. Read more.

Two important truth checks on PC policy nonsense

Try out the new web site menu. Click IssuesTruth Checks, and choose either the Chain E-mail rant that the desperate Conservatives keep sending to their core faithful, or click Hydro Debt to see Hudak's preposterous claims that the Ontario Hydro "stranded debt," that he and bumbling Conservative cohort themselves created, blown out of the water.

Hudak's slap in the face to Credit Valley Hospital

Any doubt that the Conservatives can't conceal their desire to tear apart Ontario's health care system was dispelled last fall when Tory Leader Tim Hudak flat-out lied about Credit Valley. And despite touring the hospital, and being called out by Mayor McCallion, Hudak and the Tories have never apologized. Disgusting! Read the details.
